Not generally. We understand that you might not always be available at the scheduled time for delivery generated by us. In many cases, the driver will leave the shipment without a signature. In cases where this is not practical, different carriers will have different policies regarding a final connection with you.
Our three main carriers, UPS, Purolator Courier and Canada Post have post offices, customer service centers and agents across Canada and the USA where parcels can be held for customer pickup. If the driver is able to leave your parcel, they will leave a notice telling you where you can pick up your parcel. If you live at a location that is not serviced by the courier, the parcel will be held at an office or agent for pickup and you will be advised by phone.
If Canada Post does not deliver parcels to your address, you will receive a notification card in the mail telling you where the item can be picked up. The same applies to the US Postal Service.
After the initial attempt, UPS will make two more delivery attempts on two consecutive business days.
Most LTL Freight companies will call you to make a delivery appointment if the delivery is to a residential address.
